The much-anticipated horse racing event in Hong Kong, the '2026/27 Horse Racing Season Opening Day', will be grandly held at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 6 September, marking the beginning of a new racing season. To celebrate the opening of the racing season in the Year of the Horse, The Hong Kong Jockey Club cordially invites all Hong Kong citizens and tourists to 'Full City Out', and join this grand event filled with exciting races, entertainment performances, generous rewards and immersive experiences. The 'Year of the Horse Ambassador', superstar Aaron Kwok, will make an appearance on the opening day to meet the audience, and will also perform as a guest singer, premiering a live performance of the Hong Kong Jockey Club's annual theme song, 'Keep Charging', at the racecourse. This will be a prelude to the upcoming new racing season, conveying the spirit of 'unity between man and horse'. It will inspire everyone to have the courage and perseverance to strive towards their goals, infusing everyone with a boost of energy! In addition to a series of thrilling races, the opening day will also feature a grand opening ceremony with lion dance performances, admission gifts, reward offerings, and special themed cuisine.
